LACET Virtual Seminar
The French-speaking LACET Virtual Seminar is a space for the development of social sciences and the humanities, particulary to promote a comparative, engaged and transnational anthropology in Africa or in relation to African questions. It is open to LACET members as well as to other researchers and students interested in the seminar. The seminar is a set up with video conference between three class-rooms (Uppsala, Ouagadougou, and Bamako). It is furthermore supported by a web-based platform for pedagogical development.

The LACET Virtual Seminar took place on 9 March 2021 on the theme CASSER LE PLAFOND DE VERRE? as to favour debates on women in politics in West Africa. The recorded seminar are uploaded in the videos bellow. The seminar and discussion are in French.In the first clip Uppsala Anthropologist Sten Hagberg introduces the theme of female leadership in West Africa as well as the newly published "FEMMES DE DEVANT!".COMBAT DU LEADERSHIP FÉMININ AU BURKINA FASO" in Uppsala Papers in Africa Studies 6. In the second clip Burkinabe Anthropologist Adjara Kokonbo presents case sudies from Yako and Fada N'Gourma in Burkina Faso, followed by Malian Anthropologist Bintou Koné, who talks about her research on women's political participation in Burkina Faso and Mali. In the third and fourth clip, LACET members and other participants engage in discussion and debate.

The West Africa Conference. Members of the LACET participated in the International Conference on Mande Studies entitled BEYOND CRISIS AND INSECURITY: CULTURAL CREATIVITY, POPULAR STRUGGLE, AND SOCIAL CHANGE IN WEST AFRICA, 16-19 June 2021.
