The 2023 European Summer School in Bayreuth

Between 23 and 26 May 2023, the 14th European Summer School for the Anthropology of Development and Social Dynamics was organized at the University of Bayreuth, Germany, under the diligent leadership of Prof. Dr. Andrea Behrends. For more info, please consult 14th European Summer School.

On 23 May, we were offered a decolonial city walk, and on 24 May the 14th Edition of the Summer School was launched. En avant la musique! The following days were intense combining inspiring research presentations, and insigtful discussions, with conversations during coffee breaks and generous dinners. Andrea Behrends and her team had indeed pulled together an amazing programme.

This year, the participating universities were:

  • University of Bayreuth
  • Université de Bordeaux
  • University of Edinburgh
  • KULeuven
  • UCLouvain
  • Université de Liège
  • Uppsala University
  • Leipzig University

The Bayreuth team has welcomed us all with heart and soul. Thousands of thanks.

The 15th Edition of the European Summer School will take place at the Catholic University of Louvain (hence UCLouvain and KULeuven).
