How to get from Stockholm-Arlanda to Uppsala C (Central Station)

You have three options

  1. By train https://www.swedavia.com/arlanda/train/
  2. By bus No 801. The bus’ last station is Uppsala Central, where you should get off.
  3. Taxi. The fare is for 1-4 persons: 545 sek, so around 54 euro

You can buy the train and bus tickets at the terminal https://www.swedavia.com/arlanda/find-at-the-airport/ (Sky City on the map). You cannot buy tickets in the train. Presently, only terminal 5 is open, so you should not get lost.

The train ticket costs from about 130 sek (2nd class) to 245 sek (1st class). Approximately 12,7 euro to 24 euro. The train can take from 20 to 45min, depending on if it stops at all the stations or not.

The bus ticket costs 121 sek (11,88 euro), and it takes about 45 to 50min.

If you decide to take the bus, I suggest you get the UL app. Because of COVID, you CANNOT buy tickets on the bus from the driver. With the app, you don’t have to worry about finding the ticket machines at the airport, or on your way back to Arlanda, at the train station.  You can download the app from here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=se.ul.app&hl=en&gl=US

One last advice, use your credit card. Many services in Sweden are cash-free.

How to arrive from Stockholm Bromma to Uppsala Central Station

1. The bus with the company Flygbussarna. Buses are quite frequent and take you directly to Stockholm C. The ticket costs 99 sek, or around 9.7 euro. The journey takes about 20min https://www.flygbussarna.se/en/bromma

2. Public transport, with tram 31 or bus 31B to Alvik metro station. Then by metro green line, trains 17 or 18, to central Stockholm. The ticket is unique for all types of transport, costs 37 sek and is valid for 75min. Consult this site for timetables https://sl.se/

3. Taxi to Stockholm Central

The airport is not large, and you will have to easily find ticket machines and bus / tram stops.

From Stockholm Central to Uppsala you have fairly frequent trains, at least 3 times an hour. You can buy your ticket at ticket machines at the station or on the SJ app
