Sahel Symposium

In December 2022, the first Sahel Symposium on Citizen Perspectives in Mali was hosted as a way to increase interest and facilitate collaboration amongst Swedish-based researchers working in West Africa. The symposium was combined with a start-up meeting of our Mali-project.

Between 14 and 15 December 2023, the second Sahel Symposium is jointly organized by Uppsala University's Forum for Africa Studies, and SIPRI's Sahel And West Africa Programme with partners from Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger. The theme is Public Services and Citizen Perspectives in Times of Crisis. The Symposium is open to the public. Detailed programme is available here Please not that the Round-Table on Thursday 14 Dec. 15.30-17.00 will be a hybrid event.

The Symposium is open to the public, and free of charge. No registration required.

Most welcome!
