Strengthening Women in Politics

In January 2023, the LACET started a collaborative study on Malian women's political participation. Between January and April 2023, 13 researchers (Anthropologists, Geographers, Political Scientists, Gender Researchers, etc.) are doing fieldwork across Mali as to interview women politicians, analysing their life histories, and following their daily activities and the campaigns in which they take part. The International Women's Day on 8 March 2023 was an opportunity to better understand the furthering of women's political agendas.

Preliminary results will be jointly analysed by the team and then presented at a citizen debate in Bamako. The study will later on be published as a collective book. Stay tuned.
