“Double Burden of Disease” - Tackling the unfinished Infectious Disease agenda and the Non-Communicable Disease epidemic in weak health systems
On February 5th, 2016, Prof. Stefan Swartling Peterson (Dept. of Women’s and Children’s Health) triggered an interdisciplinary reflection on the theme of the "double burden" of disease, or the coexistence of communicable and non communicable diseases in Africa. Eren Zink (Dept. of Cultural Anthropology and Ethnology) was a discussant.
About ten representatives from different departments within humanities and medical sciences have attended the seminar.
Prof. Swartling Peterson has now left to New York, where he has taken on the role of Chief of Health for UNICEF. Congratulations!
