'Captured in Flight': Understanding Current Trends in Migration and Human Trafficking

On Thursday October 29, 2015, the dissemination seminar 'Captured in Flight' was held in Room IX of the University Hall. Researchers Beth Maina Alhberg (Dept. of Women's and Children's Health) and Anne Kubai (Dept. of Theology), presented the findings of their research among African women in Sweden in violent situations, some of whom have been trafficked to Sweden. The seminar took place during most of the day and many others presented and partook in panels. It held in attendance a wide variety of experts and interested parties, such as African Embassy representatives, representatives of the university and the city of Uppsala, as well as a number of acaemics and people working for non-gouvernmental organisations. This seminar was hosted in collaboration between the departments of Theology and Women's and Children's Health and Forum for Africa Studies. For an abstract, click on the poster on the right.
